Lading Manager Lite Download and Installation

 
ALMSys Support can assist you with the installation and configuration of this software. This is HIGHLY recommended and costs you nothing.


SQL Server Installation

This software requires the installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Express. ALMSys Support will help you install and configure this software at no labor charge. Please take advantage of this, especially if you are intending on subscribing to a network version.

 

You are responsible for attaining your own copy of SQL Server.

 

Instructions for installing SQL Server Express may be found by clicking here. Please note to use "LADINGLITE" as the instance name on the instance configuration page.

 

 

Lading Manager Lite Installation

Lading Manager Lite will run on Windows 7 through Windows 11 operating systems. Download and install the latest version by clicking here.

 

The current version is 6.0.9 that was released on June 25, 2024.

 

You may evaluate Lading Manager Lite for 30 days, free of charge. Licensing the software is done from within the software itself. You only need a credit card and an Internet connection.

 

All future upgrades are performed within Lading Manager Lite. If you are on a version prior to 6.0 (such as 5.33), then you must do the "Download Full Version Now" above. Version 6.0 installs into different directories than 5.x and before.

 

DO NOT USE THE LADING MANAGER LITE SHORT CUTS UNTIL ALL OF THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE NEXT SECTION HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

 

Lading Manager Lite Configuration

Now that you have performed the initial installation, here are the final steps to configure the Lading Manager Lite and its database.

 

As a result of the installations, a menu was created for you under Start - Programs - Lading Manager Lite. The next steps will run some of the items from that menu.

 

Note: You will need full security access to the c:\program files (x86)\lading manager folder. Please make that security change before proceeding.

 

Instance Name Change

When you installed SQL Server Express, the instance name displayed should have been "SQLExpress." If your instance name differs from that, you will need perform the following steps:

  1. Open "My Computer" and navigate to the c:\program files (x86)\ALMSys Inc\LALT folder.

  2. Double-click on the LadingLiteConnect.ini file. This will open a notepad edit session.

  3. Change the "ServerName=" line to reflect the instance name. It should be in the format of ServerName=.\LadingLite. If needed, change the  "LadingLite" part to match the instance name. (For example: ServerName=.\SQLExpress )  If you are on a network version, then the "." would need to changed to the database server name.

  4. Save your edits (File - Save) and close the notepad edit session.

 

Initialize Database

Select "LALT Initialization" from the Lading Manager Lite menu. Follow these steps:

  1. When you installed SQL Server Express, you specified a password for the "sa" login. Please type this password in the password field and press the Save button.

  2. Go to the Connection tab.

  3. Click the Connect to SQL Server button. If you get an error, you will need to correct this error on the LadingLiteConnect.Ini File tab.

  4. If a connection is made and the Create LadingLite Database button lights up, then you will need to click that to create the database in SQL Server.

  5. When the database is created and successfully connected, go to the Create Tables tab.

  6. Click the Create All Tables button. This should place a check mark in each table created. If any tables are skipped, or you get an error message, please contact Support.

  7. On the right column, click the Load All Tables button. This should place a check mark in each table loaded. If any tables are skipped, or you get an error message, please contact Support.

  8. Close the program.

And Finally ....

The Lading Manager Lite is now ready to go!

If you are upgrading from a version prior to 6.0, and wish to copy your old data into the new version, then please contact Support to get this program (free of charge) along with instructions on how it is used.
